Satyajit Das "Credit Crunch - the New Diet Snack Food for Capital Markets"
Satyajit Das anticipated much of what is now unfolding in Credit Markets. In Traders, Guns & Money: Knowns and Unknowns in the Dazzling World of Derivatives he exposed the sophistry of derivatives and the structured credit market. He also highlighted the moral hazards and distorted incentive structures that posed major threats to market stability. Credit Crunch focuses on the US sub-prime problems and its effect on global credit markets. It looks at what created the credit bubble, how financial engineering exacerbated it, what brought it to an end, how the bubble is unwinding and how banks, risk managers and regulators all played their part in creating it. Satyajit Das works in the area of financial derivatives and risk management. He is the author of a number of key reference works on derivatives and risk management. Dr Helen Nugent AO "Managing Your Career" SOLD OUT!
Helen Nugent is a full-time company director with a background in strategy, change management and finance. She is Chairman of Swiss Re Life and Health (Australia), Funds SA and Hudson (Australia) and is a Director of Macquarie Bank, Origin Energy and Freehills. Prior to becoming a director, Helen was Director of Strategy at Westpac, Professor in Management and Director of the MBA Program at the AGSM and a Partner at McKinsey & Company. Helen has been actively involved in the arts in Australia. In 1999, she chaired the Nugent Inquiry and was Chairman of the Major Performing Arts Board from 1997 to 2002. She has also been Deputy Chairman of the Australia Council and Opera Australia. She was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2001 and an Order of Australia in 2004 for her services to the performing arts, to business and the financial services industry, particularly in the area of corporate governance and to the community. Phil Kearns "Winning Teams"
Phil Kearns is, without doubt, one of Rugby's most famous and respected sons. Phil's great ability as a player coupled with his leadership skills, both on and off the field, was recognised through his appointment as captain of the Wallabies on ten occasions throughout his career. The consummate team member, his candid wit and outgoing personality made him popular with team mates, supporters, media and even opponents. Retiring from rugby in 1999, Phil's career has remained hectic. He works full time with Investec Bank, is a rugby commentator with FoxSports and as well as his numerous charities. And of course, with four young kids, Phil and his wife Julie have never been busier!! A personable and articulate presenter, Phil is a highly sought after public speaker and spokesperson.
